The song I chose for this week is "How Deep Is the Ocean" sung by Bing Crosby. The song was composed by Irving Berlin in 1932 and is said to have been developed from a different song of his called "To My Mammy". The version I listened to (linked below) had an some orchestra and band instruments playing behind Crosby's singing. The instruments seem to play louder as Crosby sings louder or sometimes during pauses in the lyrics. The song keeps a slow pace and is pretty mellow during the whole piece.
The lyrics are made up of mostly sets of questions as responses to other questions. For example the lyrics "How far would I travel / To be where you are?" is responded to with "How far is the journey / From here to a star?" Another example of this is when Berlin writes "How many times a day / Do I think of you?" then writes the response question "How many roses / Are sprinkled with dew?" The only line that doesn't seem to end as a question is when Berlin writes "I'll tell you no lie". Outside of that, the lyrics are all questions relating to the theme of love.

I'm really happy that you chose this song, I really enjoyed listening to it in class. I thought it was a super soothing song, and it reminds me of something my grandpa would listen to and sing. I really liked that you shared a little bit about the composer and where the song "How Deep Is The Ocean" developed from. Cool facts that I feel like added to your post. When we listened to this piece in class I didn't realize that he was answering questions with questions, but like that you pointed that out so when I listen to it again, I will be looking for them. I feel like that is a super clever way to tell someone how much you like/adore them.
